Neuroergonomics & Occupational Biomechanics Laboratory
Who We Are
The mission of the Neuroergonomics & Occupational Biomechanics Laboratory (NOBL) is to improve safety and reduce accidents in high-stakes situations. High-stakes situations encompass activities where an error can lead to severe injury and fatality. We specialize in the design of experimental and simulated real-world paradigms to assess hazardous occupational tasks and balance for at-fall risk populations. We progress our mission by advancing knowledge in high-stakes situations and collaborating with stakeholders to leverage societal impact.
What We Do
We apply a human factors approach, investigating individual, environmental, and interfacing factors that contribute to safe and effective activity in high-stakes situations. Our expertise in biomechanical and neural applications enable us to quantify the complexity of interfacing individual-environmental factors, utilizing motion capture tools to record whole-body biomechanics and high-density electroencephalogram (EEG) to record mobile brain imaging.
